Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum research roadmaps targeting 2026 commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Secure $5M+ in annual research funding through grant proposals and industry partnerships
- Publish top-tier research in Nature/Science journals and present at quantum computing conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish university collaboration programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record of publishing breakthrough quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience managing R&D budgets exceeding $3M annually
- Strong background in superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- History of translating research into commercial IP (patents preferred)
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to diverse stakeholders
