Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, computer scientists, and engineers
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for commercial applications
- Collaborate with industry partners to implement quantum solutions in finance and healthcare
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with superconducting qubits
- Published research in top-tier journals (minimum 3 first-author papers)
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience mentoring junior researchers and leading technical teams
- Clearance for DoD/NASA projects (or ability to obtain)
