BrightPath Digital is seeking a talented Part-Time Junior Web Developer to join our dynamic team in the heart of Boston. As a Junior Developer, you will work closely with our senior engineering team to build scalable web applications, ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and senior developers to translate wireframes into responsive, pixel-perfect web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
- Assist in the development and maintenance of back-end services using Node.js or Python, including database integration and API management.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and learn from senior team members.
- Troubleshoot and debug web applications to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers.
- Stay updated on emerging web technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also accepted.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Angular) is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of server-side programming and relational databases (SQL).
- A strong portfolio demonstrating previous web development projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members.
- Availability to work 15-25 hours per week, with a preference for evenings or weekends.
