Responsibilities
- Market Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze large datasets of equity options trades to identify pricing anomalies, volume spikes, and unusual market behavior.
- Automated Reporting: Develop and maintain Python scripts and SQL queries to automate the extraction and cleaning of trade data, ensuring timely reporting.
- Visual Insights: Create intuitive dashboards and visualizations (using Tableau or PowerBI) to communicate complex market sentiment to the trading floor.
- Trend Forecasting: Evaluate implied volatility and open interest trends to provide actionable insights regarding potential market movements.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of all data feeds and reporting systems through rigorous quality control checks.
- Collaboration: Partner with quantitative researchers to refine models and improve the efficiency of our data infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in financial data analysis, preferably within equity options or derivatives markets.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL. Experience with data visualization tools is highly preferred.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of options pricing models (Black-Scholes), Greeks, and market terminology.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
