Responsibilities
- Market Data Processing: Extract, clean, and transform large-scale equity options datasets from multiple exchanges to ensure data integrity for analysis.
- SQL Development: Write complex SQL queries to retrieve real-time and historical option flow data, supporting ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Analytics & Reporting: Develop statistical models and dashboards to track open interest, volume, and implied volatility trends across various strike prices and expirations.
- Trade Flow Analysis: Monitor and analyze large block trades and unusual options activity to identify potential market-moving events.
- Data Visualization: Create intuitive visualizations using Python libraries to present complex data to senior traders and portfolio managers.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, methodologies, and code repositories for the data team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) and SQL. Experience with Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv Eikon is a strong plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of equity options pricing, Greeks, and market mechanics. Familiarity with Black-Scholes or binomial models is preferred.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret complex datasets and identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate market shifts.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Ethic: Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a part-time capacity while meeting tight deadlines.
