Responsibilities
- Data Extraction & Cleaning: Gather and process vast amounts of equity options data from various exchanges, ensuring accuracy and consistency for our proprietary pricing models.
- Model Validation: Assist in validating pricing models and volatility surface data to ensure they align with real-world market movements.
- Dashboard Development: Build and maintain interactive dashboards (using tools like Tableau or PowerBI) to visualize option greeks, open interest, and volume trends.
- Trend Analysis: Perform deep-dive analyses on historical data to identify patterns and anomalies in equity option pricing.
- Reporting: Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports for the trading desk, highlighting key market sentiment indicators.
- Database Maintenance: Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize SQL queries and improve data retrieval speeds.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the financial services, specifically focusing on equity options or derivatives.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R for data manipulation; strong SQL skills for querying databases.
- Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial derivatives, the Black-Scholes model, and option greeks (Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega).
- Tools: Experience with Excel (advanced functions) and data visualization tools.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
