Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security events using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Conduct daily vulnerability scans and penetration testing assessments to ensure system integrity.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware analysis and phishing attempts.
- Enforce access controls and security policies across local and cloud environments.
- Generate and maintain detailed reports on security incidents, compliance status, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and strengthen network defenses.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or network defense.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization.
- Experience with SIEM technologies, IDS/IPS, and firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Secret/Top Secret) is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while managing other commitments.
