Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic, logs, and system alerts to detect and analyze potential cyber threats and anomalies.
- Incident Response: Investigate security breaches, conduct forensic analysis, and execute response plans to mitigate risks effectively.
- Vulnerability Management: Perform regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and patch system weaknesses.
- Security Configuration: Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN gateways to enforce strict security policies.
- Compliance Auditing: Ensure all systems and processes comply with industry standards such as NIST, HIPAA, and internal security protocols.
- Reporting: Generate detailed security reports and provide briefings to stakeholders regarding incident status and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration: Work with development and engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification: Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Network+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in network security, SOC operations, or incident response.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), TCP/IP protocols, and encryption standards.
- Tools: Strong knowledge of vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection platforms.
- Availability: Must be available to work part-time hours (approx. 20-25 hours per week) with some flexibility for on-call rotation.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
