What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events across the network infrastructure using SIEM tools like Splunk or QRadar.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential entry points for malicious actors.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely containment and recovery of affected systems.
- Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure timely patch management and secure software deployment.
- Document security policies, incident reports, and compliance audits to maintain industry standards.
- Provide security awareness training to non-technical staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in network security, incident response, or a related security role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and common network protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
