Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits on internal systems.
- Implement, configure, and maintain network security controls, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Develop and update security documentation, policies, and compliance procedures (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with the IT and engineering teams to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent (CISSP preferred for part-time senior roles).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or information security.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or SIEM platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting security findings.
