The Role
As a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst, you will monitor our security infrastructure, investigate potential threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with our full-time engineering team to enhance our security posture.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and SIEM tools for suspicious activity and anomalies.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and alerts in a timely manner.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software.
- Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
- Perform compliance audits to ensure adherence to HIPAA, GDPR, and internal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with security tools (e.g., Splunk, Snort, Wireshark) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
