Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to ensure system integrity.
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement containment strategies.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and SIEM platforms.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure implementation of software and infrastructure.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff members.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in security tools (e.g., Splunk, FireEye, CrowdStrike, Snort).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
- Valid driver's license and ability to commute to our Austin office for occasional meetings.
