Responsibilities
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal networks and web applications.
- Monitor security systems and alerts to identify, investigate, and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of new security tools and software updates.
- Document security incidents, create detailed reports, and provide recommendations for remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state data privacy regulations and internal security policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and common attack vectors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while meeting strict deadlines.
