Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on client networks and applications
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and implement remediation protocols
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and regulatory changes (e.g., NYDFS, HIPAA)
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for client employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (GDPR, PCI-DSS, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
