Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS) and analyze alerts for potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and recommend remediation actions
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and hardening measures
- Stay current with emerging threats and cybersecurity trends through continuous learning
- Assist with incident response planning and tabletop exercises
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection and incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (CISSP, CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security events
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
