Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities and potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Incident response handling, including threat containment, eradication, and recovery
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Implement and maintain security controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and industry best practices
- Assist in developing security policies and procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection and incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex security data
- Familiarity with NIST frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and network security tools
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder reporting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a flexible role
