Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for real-time threat detection
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Incident response coordination including forensic analysis and containment procedures
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Assist with compliance audits for frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (CISSP, CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in network security protocols (TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with incident response methodologies (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Active DoD Secret clearance or willingness to obtain
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
