Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on client networks
- Develop and implement incident response plans for security breaches
- Analyze network traffic logs to identify anomalous behavior and potential attacks
- Create comprehensive security documentation including risk assessments and compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices across infrastructure
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security certification
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network analysis protocols
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time role
