Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network systems and applications.
- Respond to security incidents and execute incident response plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus solutions to enforce security policies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS through regular audits and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and secure endpoints.
- Provide technical guidance and security awareness training to staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
