Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for security incidents and anomalous network behavior
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches using tools like EnCase and Wireshark
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Develop incident response playbooks and conduct tabletop exercises
- Perform vulnerability assessments using Nessus and Qualys scanners
- Collaborate with penetration testers to validate security controls
- Document security procedures and create executive-level reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on SOC operations or threat detection
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, and network security tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architectures
- Experience with Windows/Linux system hardening and security baselines
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Active NYS Security Clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days
