Responsibilities
- Network Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and security vulnerabilities quickly.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Perform physical network cabling, termination of fiber and copper cables, and manage server rack organization.
- System Monitoring: Monitor network traffic and performance to ensure optimal efficiency and prevent downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, inventory logs, and standard operating procedures.
- Security Compliance: Assist in implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect data integrity.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA certification is strongly preferred; Network+ or CCENT is required.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Tools: Familiarity with network management tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces (attics/basements) and at heights (ladders).
