Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark to identify bottlenecks and security threats
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues with SLA adherence of 99.9% uptime
- Implement network security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive data
- Document network configurations, changes, and incident reports using ITIL methodologies
- Collaborate with cloud engineers to hybridize on-premises and AWS/Azure infrastructure
- Provide Tier 3 support during critical outages and perform scheduled maintenance windows
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Network Engineering or 3+ years equivalent experience
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification (required)
- Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks equipment
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Cisco Viptela, VMware SD-WAN)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN protocols, and VLANs
- Ability to lift 40lbs and work in elevated server rack environments
- Valid Michigan driver's license for client site visits
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
