Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform physical cabling tasks, including fiber and copper termination, and manage cable management systems.
- Monitor network performance and analyze traffic to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, and changes to ensure accurate knowledge base maintenance.
- Respond to and resolve Help Desk tickets related to network connectivity and hardware failures.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party contractors to manage large-scale network upgrades and maintenance.
- Ensure strict adherence to company security protocols and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military technical training.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience in network administration and infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and fiber optic technology.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights as required by the role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
