Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, diagnose hardware failures, and implement effective resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Manage IP addressing schemes, VLAN configurations, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
- Perform regular network audits, security updates, and firmware upgrades on all network devices.
- Document network topology, configurations, and changes in the company CMDB.
- Collaborate with the SysAdmin team to ensure seamless integration between network and server infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for end-users regarding network-related issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and command-line interfaces (CLI).
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and basic scripting (Python or Bash is a plus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lift and move network hardware equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
