Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure and manage network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from top-tier vendors.
- Monitor network traffic using advanced tools to identify bottlenecks, security threats, and potential downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and installations of network cabling, fiber optics, and wireless access points.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new software applications and services securely.
- Document network configurations, create technical diagrams, and maintain detailed logs of all network changes.
- Provide Tier 3-level technical support and training to junior staff and end-users.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Valid certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Experience with network security solutions, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues, including cabling faults and hardware failures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (if applicable).
