Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Cisco Prime
- Diagnose and resolve network outages with minimal service disruption
- Document network configurations and create/update technical documentation
- Collaborate with vendors on hardware upgrades and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Provide tier-2 support for internal and external network issues
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT or equivalent experience (CCNA/CompTIA Network+ preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on network administration experience
- Proficiency in Cisco IOS/Junos and enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and network security principles
- Experience with network monitoring and automation tools
- Ability to work independently in remote and challenging environments
- Valid Alaska driver's license required for site visits
