Responsibilities
- Market Data Processing: Collect, clean, and validate large datasets related to equity options, including open interest, volume, and implied volatility metrics.
- Model Support: Assist senior analysts in maintaining and stress-testing options pricing models, specifically focusing on the Black-Scholes framework and volatility surface analysis.
- Visualization: Develop clear, intuitive dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau or Power BI to visualize trading strategies and market trends for the trading floor.
- Trading Desk Support: Provide real-time data support to traders, answering inquiries and ensuring data integrity during high-volume trading sessions.
- Research Assistance: Conduct preliminary research on new derivative products and market events to identify potential impacts on our options portfolios.
- Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly performance reports summarizing portfolio analytics and risk metrics for senior management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation; strong command of SQL for database queries.
- Financial Knowledge: Basic understanding of options theory, including calls, puts, and the 'Greeks' (Delta, Gamma, Vega, Theta).
- Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macro development.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns in complex datasets.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
