What You Will Do
As a Junior Data Analyst, your daily activities will include:
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and normalize large datasets from various market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) focused on equity options.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (using tools like Tableau or PowerBI) to visualize implied volatility surfaces and open interest trends.
- Assist in the design and testing of algorithms that detect arbitrage opportunities in equity options markets.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify patterns and anomalies in historical options data.
- Collaborate with quants and traders to translate data findings into strategic recommendations.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reporting systems.
- Document data pipelines and analytical methodologies for team knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Familiarity with financial concepts, specifically equity options (calls, puts, spreads, straddles) and volatility.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (Pandas, NumPy) or SQL for data manipulation.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of complex data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (R, SAS) is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
