Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Analyze network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools to identify potential intrusions and vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Assist in the detection, analysis, and containment of cybersecurity incidents and security breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular scans and assessments to identify software weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.
- Security Documentation: Maintain up-to-date logs, reports, and incident documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
- Threat Intelligence: Research and analyze emerging cyber threats and trends to proactively fortify our defenses.
- Employee Training: Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for staff members.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is highly preferred; willingness to obtain CISSP or CEH within 2 years.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Tools: Familiarity with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or Splunk is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
