Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activity, anomalies, and potential cyber threats.
- Assist in the configuration, management, and monitoring of firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities under senior supervision.
- Respond to security incidents and assist in the containment and remediation of breaches.
- Document security incidents, policies, and technical configurations accurately and thoroughly.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence.
- Collaborate with IT operations to ensure compliance with internal security standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Completion of CompTIA Security+ (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearances.
- Self-starter mindset with a passion for learning new security technologies.
