Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and patch management to mitigate security risks.
- Assist in the investigation and triage of security incidents and potential breaches.
- Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports in accordance with compliance standards.
- Participate in red team/blue team exercises to improve organizational resilience.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to implement security best practices across the network.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent military experience).
- Relevant entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN).
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows command line interfaces and scripting (Python or Bash is a plus).
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP) within 2 years of hire.
