Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and logs using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Support the implementation and maintenance of firewall rules and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for internal systems.
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed technical logs for compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with the IT team to patch systems and resolve security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security awareness training and incident response drills.
- Research emerging cyber threats and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/combat experience).
- Enthusiasm for cybersecurity and a strong desire to learn about network protocols and security architecture.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with Linux or Windows command line interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must be willing to obtain industry certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+) within 12 months.
