Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools to detect suspicious activities and potential intrusions.
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and basic security audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Respond to and document security incidents, providing timely communication to stakeholders during an active threat.
- Support the implementation of security awareness training programs and assist in the patch management process.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze log data and improve security posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting.
- Basic understanding of operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux distributions.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and concepts (CIA Triad, Threat Modeling) is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Eagerness to obtain industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
