Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year technology roadmaps aligned with 2026 market predictions and regulatory shifts
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping and validating emerging technologies (quantum computing, neuro interfaces, synthetic biology)
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and government agencies for 2026 R&D initiatives
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies and competitive threats
- Present technology strategy to investors, board members, and industry consortiums
- Manage $5M+ innovation budget with ROI-driven allocation methodologies
- Author thought leadership publications on 2026 technology trends
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with proven 5+ year horizon planning success
- MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futures Studies
- Deep expertise in at least three emerging tech domains (AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, quantum computing)
- Experience securing government grants or public-private partnerships for long-term projects
- Published author or keynote speaker on future technology trends
- PMP or CSM certification preferred
- Portfolio demonstrating technology commercialization of futuristic concepts
- Fluency in at least two programming languages (Python, Java, C++)
