Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical Part-Time Equity Options Data Analyst to support our dynamic trading desk in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will bridge the gap between raw market data and actionable trading insights, working in close collaboration with our New York-based quantitative teams.
As a key member of our data team, you will ensure the accuracy of our options pricing models and help visualize complex derivative data. This position offers the flexibility of part-time hours with the intellectual challenge of high-frequency finance.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor and clean large datasets of equity options trades, bid-ask spreads, and volatility indices.
- Develop Python scripts using Pandas and NumPy to automate data validation and reporting.
- Create interactive dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI to track open interest and implied volatility trends.
- Communicate data anomalies and market insights to the NY trading floor in real-time.
- Assist in the maintenance of our SQL databases and ETL pipelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- 1+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within financial markets.
- Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Matplotlib) and SQL.
- Deep understanding of options pricing models, Greeks, and Black-Scholes mechanics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Extract, clean, and normalize equity options data from multiple exchanges.
- Build automated reports to track market sentiment and volatility surfaces.
- Collaborate with quants in New York to refine data requirements for backtesting.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal reporting standards.
- Document data schemas and analytical methodologies.
Qualifications
- BS in a quantitative field (Finance, Math, Stats, CS).
- Experience with SQL and database management.
- Familiarity with financial APIs (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or Polygon.io).
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret complex market data.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on a part-time schedule.
