Responsibilities
- Market Data Ingestion: Monitor and ingest real-time equity options data from various exchanges, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for internal dashboards.
- Data Management: Perform data cleaning, validation, and transformation tasks using SQL and Python to prepare datasets for quantitative analysis.
- Dashboard Development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of visualizations and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) to track market volatility and option pricing trends.
- Research Support: Support senior analysts in back-testing trading strategies and analyzing historical option chain data to identify patterns.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of data sources, methodologies, and findings to support regulatory compliance and team knowledge sharing.
- Collaboration: Partner with the trading desk and engineering team to identify data gaps and improve reporting workflows.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (graduating class of 2024/2025 preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL (writing complex queries, joins) and familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation.
- Analytical Tools: Strong command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial markets, specifically equity options, derivatives, and basic valuation concepts.
