Responsibilities
- Data Processing: Clean, validate, and transform large datasets of equity options market data using SQL and Python scripts.
- Market Analysis: Assist in the creation of reports and dashboards that visualize volatility, open interest, and implied volatility trends.
- Database Management: Maintain and update internal databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the trading floor.
- Collaboration: Partner with quantitative researchers to interpret data patterns and suggest improvements to data collection methodologies.
- Compliance: Ensure all data handling adheres to financial regulatory standards and internal compliance protocols.
- Documentation: Create clear documentation for data pipelines and analysis methodologies for future reference.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Graduates with 0-2 years of experience are encouraged to apply).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation.
- Excel: Advanced knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and macros.
- Market Knowledge: Basic understanding of equity options, calls, puts, and the Black-Scholes model is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors in complex datasets and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Location: Must be willing to work from our New York City office.
