Responsibilities
- Data Processing & Cleaning: Collect, validate, and clean large datasets related to equity options, ensuring high data integrity for our trading models.
- Trend Analysis: Assist senior analysts in tracking equity option trends, volatility, and pricing discrepancies in real-time.
- Dashboard Creation: Build and maintain interactive data visualization dashboards using Tableau or PowerBI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the trading desk.
- Statistical Support: Support junior data scientists in developing statistical models to forecast market movements based on historical equity data.
- Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly reports summarizing data findings to support risk management decisions.
- Database Maintenance: Collaborate with IT to ensure our data warehouses are optimized and accessible for the research team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance (or related field).
- Academic Background: Strong academic record with coursework in calculus, probability, or statistics.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and SQL. Experience with Python or R is a plus but not required.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about numbers and patterns.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex data findings clearly.
