Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify potential threats.
- Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support activities.
- Support the Incident Response team in investigating suspicious activities and digital forensics.
- Update and maintain accurate cybersecurity documentation and compliance records.
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities and harden system configurations.
- Perform regular security audits and compliance checks against industry standards.
- Conduct security awareness training for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, HTTP, and common network protocols.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
