Responsibilities
- Monitor system logs and network traffic for suspicious activity and security breaches.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Perform routine vulnerability assessments and patch management to ensure system integrity.
- Support incident response teams by documenting security events and gathering evidence.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and defense mechanisms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong understanding of computer networks, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and basic scripting.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify potential risks.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex security concepts to non-technical teams.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+.
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
