As a Junior Analyst, you will work alongside senior security professionals to monitor threats, analyze data, and help maintain our robust security posture. We provide comprehensive training and mentorship for candidates with no prior professional experience but a strong educational background.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Watch over security alerts and intrusion detection systems to identify potential threats and unauthorized access attempts.
- Log Analysis: Review system logs and network traffic to detect anomalies and ensure compliance with internal security policies.
- Incident Response Support: Assist the security team in responding to security incidents, documenting findings, and executing containment procedures.
- Software Updates: Help manage and deploy security patches, software updates, and antivirus definitions across corporate networks.
- Security Audits: Participate in regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises to identify weaknesses in our systems.
- User Support: Educate staff on basic cybersecurity best practices and assist with security-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or currently enrolled in a relevant final year).
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically when faced with security scenarios.
- Certifications: Although not required, familiarity with CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is a major plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion: A genuine interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn new technologies continuously.
