Responsibilities
- Monitor Systems: Track network traffic and system logs to identify and mitigate potential security threats in real-time.
- Vulnerability Assessments: Assist senior analysts in conducting regular security audits and penetration testing to find weak points.
- Incident Response: Support the investigation and resolution of security incidents and cyberattacks.
- Security Protocols: Help implement, configure, and maintain firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of security incidents, logs, and compliance reports.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with IT and engineering teams to ensure secure software development practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Technical Interest: Strong understanding of computer networks, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and basic IT concepts.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated analytical thinking and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Certifications: Completion of CompTIA Security+ or willingness to obtain it within 6 months (preferred).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Ethic: A self-starter attitude with a proactive approach to learning new security tools and methodologies.
