Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and system logs to detect potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure system integrity.
- Respond to security incidents and assist in the containment and eradication of malware or intrusions.
- Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to configure and maintain firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Document security incidents, create incident reports, and update security playbooks.
- Perform routine audits of network configurations to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Assist in the management and tuning of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, OSI Model).
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting security findings.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus but not mandatory.
