Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Operations Center (SOC) Alerts: Review and triage incoming security alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support Incident Response: Assist senior analysts in documenting and responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Conduct Vulnerability Assessments: Perform basic scans and tests to identify weaknesses in network systems.
- User Support & Education: Assist in educating end-users on cybersecurity best practices and password protocols.
- System Maintenance: Help maintain and update firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Compliance Reporting: Contribute to the creation of internal security reports and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: No prior cybersecurity experience required; however, internship experience or exposure to IT help desk is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is preferred but not mandatory for this entry-level position.
