Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the SIEM environment to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the configuration and management of network security devices, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises to improve system defenses.
- Conduct security investigations and provide initial triage for reported security incidents.
- Support the documentation of security policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure software development and deployment practices.
- Conduct basic security awareness training for internal staff members.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 0-2 years of experience in IT, networking, or a related technical field is preferred, but not required if you possess strong foundational knowledge.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and database concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to obtain industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+) within 12 months of hire.
