Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and SIEM alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including analyzing logs and traffic to contain breaches.
- Assist in the configuration and management of security tools, including firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities under senior supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with the IT and development teams to implement security best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP) and basic understanding of how networks operate.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems (command line and GUI).
- Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, HTML) and web security principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a 24/7 SOC environment.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
