Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to suspicious activities
- Assess network vulnerabilities using automated scanning tools and manual analysis
- Document security incidents using standardized reporting frameworks (NIST CSF)
- Assist in implementing security controls for cloud infrastructure and on-premise systems
- Participate in penetration testing exercises under senior guidance
- Stay updated on emerging threats through continuous learning and threat intelligence feeds
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate security gaps
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security principles
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) or willingness to learn
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally to client sites
