Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and triage potential threats
- Assist with incident response procedures including documentation and containment actions
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Analyze network traffic patterns to detect anomalous activity
- Contribute to security awareness training materials for internal teams
- Assist in maintaining compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security drills
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
