Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and analyze threats
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under guidance
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance with NIST frameworks
- Assist in implementing security controls for network and cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with incident response teams during security breaches
- Conduct security awareness training for employees
- Research emerging threats and contribute to security intelligence reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems
- Basic understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
