Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential breaches using SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement security controls and hardening measures for cloud/on-premise systems
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed incident response reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees
- Stay updated on emerging threats through continuous research and threat intelligence platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CEH certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security concepts
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for threat detection
- Excellent written/verbal communication for incident reporting
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Active participation in cybersecurity communities (e.g., DEF CON, local ISAC groups)
